LiquirigS Products Used: Zanana Pellets in PVA mesh bags

Kelvin Burrows recently headed to Woodland Waters for an 18-hour session, and what a session it turned out to be! Here’s his story, in his own words:

“After arriving at the lake and catching up with a friend on the other side, I noticed a particular area that wasn’t being fished. It had two promising pegs— one with overhanging bushes, deep marginal areas, and a flat spot, and another with overhanging trees, bushes, and a hump 10 wraps out to the middle. Option 2 instantly caught my eye: snaggy, deep margins with a hump— perfect!

After chatting with my mate, who handed me a bag of Zanana pellets (cheers, mate!), I couldn’t wait to put them to use. I quickly got back to the peg and set up in the dark around 10:30 PM. The lake was alive with splashing— absolute carnage out there! I prepared my rigs: 7-inch clear booms, size 10 quick-change swivels, and pineapple pop-ups topped with wafters. My mix of Scopex boilie crumbs and Zanana pellets smelled spot-on for a bite.

I placed my rods: one under the tree on the left, another under some bramble bushes on the right, and the third on the hump. I added seven handfuls of Zanana pellets to the margins and waited.

The first action came at 1 AM— a one-tone screamer! I landed a stunning 14lb common. After resetting the rod and adding more bait to the margins, the bites kept coming. At 1:30 AM, the right rod went off, but the hook didn’t set properly, and I lost the fish. At 2:45 AM, the left rod under the tree produced another take. This one felt like a proper lump, but just as I was about to net her, she shook off. Gutted!

Determined, I tied fresh rigs and got them back on the spots. At 4 AM, the left rod screamed off again. This time, I landed a pristine 20.02lb mirror— a real beauty in immaculate condition. After loads of photos, I was buzzing.

Things quietened down after that, with the lake filling up by 6 AM. At 8 AM, the middle rod produced another take, but unfortunately, it was another hook pull. That’s fishing for you— win some, lose some!

Fantastic session, Kelvin! That 20lb mirror is an absolute beauty, and it’s great to see LiquirigS products playing their part in your success. Keep smashing it on the bank, and we can’t wait to hear about your next adventure! 💥
