Thorney Lake Carp on Bait-Cap

Bank Holiday Bait-Cap Hauling

Over 20 carp and double takes for Oliver during a day session on a Somerset water. Guided by his dad (our General Manager Dezzy), we decided to fish exclusively with the Bait-Cap. Two rods were set up: a feeder rod with a method feeder using a 12mm Bait-Cap hookbait, and a carp rod with a 1oz running rig and a small dumbell Bait-Cap hookbait.

The carp rod was fished roving, casting single yellow Bait-Cap hookbaits loaded with oily shrimp Liqui-Paste. The method feeder, loaded with dampened pellets, was the most productive rod overall, catching various species from 4oz Bream and nice Tench to plenty of carp.

Great Sport on a Feeder Set-up!

The carp set-up with the bigger hookbait consistently caught the larger fish. All in all, it was a superb day of fishing with consistent action for Oliver, who also got great practice in self-landing and handling fish out of the water. Well done, Oliver!

To Sum Up

The Bait-Cap excels in these kinds of venues! On a day ticket water, you can expect to catch a few. The speed and simplicity of getting that rod back out make them a pleasure to use. You tie a rig once, and you’re set up for the day without needing a baiting needle to re-bait.

Not only that, but they also allow you to use very soft baits effectively, the hookbaits are now far more attractive to fish compared to boiled baits or hard pellets. This was evident as we noticeably caught more fish than those around us.

If you do fish these types of venues, you need to give the Bait-Cap a try. They’re a joy to use, hassle-free, and free up valuable fishing time. Not to mention, they give you an edge in terms of bait attractors, helping you catch plenty of fish. #getonthebaitcap
