As it’s been nearly a year since Caroline and myself first met Phil and the LiquirigS guys at the northern carp show, I thought I would do a review on the ultimate zig & liquid.
Having been Lucky enough to spend some time talking to Phil at the show, it was evident that his enthusiasm and passion for his products was born from his success and journey that had led to the creation of the ultimate zig rig and liquid.
We purchased a selection of colours and liquids, but it wasn’t until April that we first got out to try them, in those first 48 hours Caroline had 13 carp to mid doubles. Continuing to use the zigs and liquids throughout the year she had 117 carp, including a 28.10 lbs PB, for a total weight of over 1100 lbs (she is obsessed to keeping records lol).
In June we took the grandkids away for the weekend, between them they had over 30 carp to just over 15 lbs… that’s a 10 and a 13 year old hooked for life!
As for myself it took me a while as I’m a boilie angler like most people I just kept putting one rod out on a zig. Seeing Caroline smashing everywhere we went (it’s cheaper to keep her catching, stops online shopping lol) I started using them more and my catch rate went up, from day ticket waters to my rock hard Shropshire syndicate. I’ve had fish to just shy of 40lbs during our time on day ticket lakes and I’ve also been able to help some youngsters catch… and all down to the ultimate zig and liquid.
Don’t get me wrong it won’t catch every time, but if used correctly at the right depth in the right place you will not find anything better!
