It may be one of the smaller residents of the pit, but just look at it. Chestnut browns and large plated scales make you just look in awe at this carp.
It took a liking to one of our soon to be release Liquid Bottom Baits and was caught by LiquirigS general manager Dezzy back in May. Targeting a small spot next to an Island, using a 12mm Round Liquid Bottom Bait, mounted on a german rig comprising of 30lb Liqui Fluoro, and a size 8 Ultipoint Medium Curve hook.
He says
“This fish gave me a real run around, in fact it was buried in a weed bed for over 30 minutes, luckily there was a boat to hand on a nearby lake, so after a mad scramble and a massive hand from a friend, I managed to get out in the boat and on top of the fish. Clearing it from the weed, I got a glimpse of the scales and was chasing a large fully at the the time which certainly put my heart in my mouth”, anyway after freeing the fish numerous times, the tackle help impeccably and I finally managed to slip the net under it, not the fully but was another of the low stocked lakes gems off the list”
