In this guide, we’ll show you how to construct a simple and effective Bait-Cap Rig using the LiquirigS Bait-Cap Easy Hookbait System.
What You’ll Need:
- Bait-Cap Easy Hookbait System
- A size 8 Ulti-Point Wide Gape Hook
- Your chosen hooklink (we recommend 20lb Fluorocarbon for this setup)
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare the Bait-Cap System
- Remove the Bait-Caps from their packaging. You’ll find them loaded onto a pull tab with wires, similar to float stops or sinkers.
- Thread the end of your hooklink through one of the wires, leaving a couple of inches of hooklink pulled through.

2. Load the Components
- Along with the Bait-Caps, you’ll notice a sequin stop and a 3mm rig ring on the same wire.
- Slide the Bait-Cap, sequin stop, and rig ring fully down the wire loop and ensure the sequin stop and rig ring are inside the Bait-Cap before pulling your hooklink through.
3. Secure the Rig Ring
- Pull the Bait-Cap, sequin stop, and rig ring onto your hooklink all at once.

- Hold the loose tag end of the hooklink firmly to ensure the sequin and rig ring don’t slip off.

- Allow the rig ring to slide out of the Bait-Cap

- Then tie three overhand knots (granny knots) to secure the rig ring to the end of your hooklink.

4. Trim and Seat the Components
- Trim the tag end short.

- Pull the opposite end of the hooklink to seat the sequin and rig ring securely inside the Bait-Cap.

5. Attach the Hook
- Tie your hook onto the rig using a simple knotless knot. This creates a strong and effective setup.

Ready to Fish!
- Load your chosen bait into the Bait-Cap.

- Cast out and fish with confidence!
- To refresh or change your bait, simply squeeze the cap to remove the old bait and reload— no baiting tools or fuss required.
This simple yet efficient rig is perfect for presenting classic baits like bread, luncheon meat, or soft paste with ease. Happy fishing!
